Home Video Studio Creates Publicity for Table Tennis Club

A sport like table tennis needs all the help it can get with promotion, since many think
the game is just played casually, at the pool or in a recreation center.

Table tennis is one of the best known yet unknown sports in the U.S. “Everybody has
played ping pong in the basement,” said Dan Guttman. “Relatively few know what a
fast, exciting and aerobic Olympic-caliber sport table tennis can be.”

As trustee of the New Jersey Table Tennis Club (NJTTC) in Westfield, Guttman asked
Home Video Studio to create videos to promote the club, and the sport.

You can see some of these videos at (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQ-RaMCHtDo).

NJTTC is the largest club of its kind in the New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania
region. And it’s one of the top clubs in the U.S., getting more recognition thanks to
these videos.

“Dan Weiniger has been particularly good in helping us market the sport by the terrific
videos he’s done over the last few years, highlighting the club in general, plus our
particular activities,” he said. “It’s helped our publicity in general.”

Please ask what we can do for you! Home Video Studio offers a variety of video

shooting, copying and editing services. Call Dan at Home Video Studio directly at

(908) 301-9300 or email dan.w@homevideostudio.com. Our website is full of helpful

information. To learn more about the New Jersey Table Tennis Club, visit

Westfield Readies to Honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
March, commemorative service set for Monday, Jan. 21.
By Elizabeth Alterman

Westfield residents will once again honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. with a series of events held in town on Monday, Jan. 21.

An annual pancake breakfast will start the day at the Westfield Community Center. For more information or to purchase tickets, click here.

Westfield public schools will hold a four-hour session on Monday, Jan. 21. While typically students are off for the holiday, due to days missed in the wake of Superstorm Sandy, schools will be open but will end in time for all to attend a commemoration service honoring King.

A march from the Martin Luther King Jr. monument on the South Avenue/East Broad Street circle will begin at 12:15 p.m. The procession will lead to the Interfaith Commemorative Service in honor of King to be held at 1 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, located at 125 Elmer St.

The service is organized by the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Association of Westfield, a group of community and religious leaders who organized in 1987 so that Westfielders could collectively celebrate the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. The first service took place at Bethel Baptist Church on January 18th, 1988, according to the association's Facebook page.

Once again, the association is holding a school art, poetry and essay contest. Winners will be announced and presented with their prizes during the program.

New this year will be a panel discussion in which members of the community will discuss the theme "The Power of Unity." Panelists include: Westfield resident Rev. Ronald Allen of Pilgrim Baptist Church in Summit, Rabbi Douglas Sagal of Temple Emanu-El, Margaret Dolan, Westfield superintendent of schools, Reid Edles, captain of the Westfield Volunteer Rescue Squad, Town Council member David Haas, and Westfield resident Norward Harris.

"I am honored to have been invited as one of the speakers on the panel at the 26th Annual Commemorative Service hosted by the Martin Luther King, Jr. Association of Westfield," said Dolan. "This event in itself is an example of unity. People of all ages in this community gather to recall the eloquent and powerful words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and his principles of non-violence. I look forward to this yearly event which also features theme-based written and illustrative works of our students."

Videos Help Local Business Promote Services

When Doug Lynch found out he’d been “caught being honest” on a Today show undercover expose of mold inspectors, he immediately knew he had a small window of time to take advantage of the buzz. Lynch, owner of A-1 Basement Solutions in Scotch Plains, was one of eight contractors called in to assess a possible mold situation, and Lynch was the only one of eight to do a test to determine that it was not mold.

After hearing of the show’s airing, Lynch immediately called to Dan Weiniger, owner of Home Video Studio in Westfield, to edit and post the clip on YouTube. “Thank God I know Dan Weiniger of Home Video Studio,” said Lynch. “All that NBC provided was access to embed the video. The problem was that the video was seven minutes long and I’m only in it for about five seconds, and it does not identify me by name.” Weiniger edited the video down to two minutes, identifying Lynch on screen and giving his company logo and contact information at the end. “Not only was this amazing as far as Dan’s talent in terms of the video, but he got it up there so quickly.  The turnaround time really blew me away.”

This was not Lynch’s first experience with Home Video Studio. He recently completed several product videos for his basement solution company, all uploaded to YouTube. “The service that he provided was of the highest quality and well produced. His production values were tremendous,” he said. “I’ve known Dan to be a man of high standards and it shows in every aspect of his work.”

The product videos, which can be found on A1Basements’s YouTube channel, were shot on a green screen, which allows special effect backgrounds to be added later. Lynch uses these videos on sales calls. “I bring my iPad with me,” he said. “When someone wants to know how the water power sump pump works, instead of explaining it, I show them on the video. People are impressed with that. It’s become a focal point of my sales presentation.”

Weiniger also creates slideshows and videos for fundraisers, Bar/Bat Mitzvah parties, reunion events and conferences. He shoots and edits videos for commercials, college scholarship applications, sales presentations and more. Weiniger transfer videos and movies to Platinum Archival DVDs.
