Dan has taken our library of home video and has preserved them to withstand the test of time. Our VHS tapes were starting to deteriorate and Dan helped us with transferring them to DVD. Home Video Studio Creates Fundraising Video for New Jersey's Somerset Hill Handicapped Riding Center

When Jill Friedland wanted a fundraising video to show potential donors how transformative the Somerset Hill Handicapped Riding Center (shhrc.org) is, she turned to us, Home Video Studio in Westfield, NJ (http://www.homevideostudio.com/dan).

Jill is not just a SHHRC (shhrc.org) board member – she’s also a parent whose child benefits from the horse therapy. “It’s been the single most beneficial therapy my child has gotten during the last five years,” she says. The Somerset Hill Handicapped Riding Center in Oldwick, NJ uses horse therapies, including hippotherapy, to improve the quality of life for people with physical, development, emotional and medical challenges.

The riding center has horses on 12 acres. “It’s an extremely labor intensive program,” Jill says, noting that during each session a single child needs a horse trainer, volunteer and therapist. “You can imagine the expense involved in that.” While parents pay up to $75 per half-hour session, the actual cost to provide it is more than double that, which gets expensive when therapy runs several times a week for years. SHHRC, a registered charity, holds fundraisers to defray the costs that families pay.

That’s where we come in. The Somerset Hill Handicapped Riding Center (shhrc.org) is holding a fundraising brunch sponsored by Neiman Marcus (www.neimanmarcus.com/) at the Short Hills Mall (www.shopshorthills.com), with a Ralph Lauren (www.ralphlauren.com/) fashion show, on October 15, 2010. Jill and the board wanted a fundraising video to show participants what SHHRC does and how it impacts these kids’ lives so positively.

Jill brought 11 minutes of video footage to our Westfield, NJ Home Video Studio (http://www.homevideostudio.com/dan), and worked with us to edit it down to four minutes. “Dan had good creative input and was very patient. He really made the video much more professional. His equipment is completely up to date – it’s easy for a client to sit with him and participate in the vision. I brought in 11 minutes worth of video that was all over the place, and I had a picture in my mind of what I wanted to achieve. He helped me edit, tighten and reorganize it, and now it represents the goal of this fundraiser, which is to educate people in the community on what the SHHRC does.”

By the way, if you’re interested in attending the brunch, tickets are still available. They’re $75 and include brunch on Neiman Marcus’ couture floor, and gift bag.
